AJC Dining: More Than 60 Atlanta Restaurants Plan Bake Sale for Racial Justice

“On Father’s Day, more than five dozen metro Atlanta restaurants will contribute to a bake sale fundraiser to raise awareness for racial justice. The bake sale has been organized under the umbrella of Southern Restaurants for Racial Justice, a coalition started by baker and chef Sarah O’Brien of Little Tart Bakeshop in Atlanta, chef Cheryl Day of Back in the Day Bakery in Savannah and chef and writer Lisa Donovan of Nashville, Tennessee. Together, the three chefs are organizing fundraising efforts for racial justice organizations across the region.”

“Inspired by this coalition, chef Anne Quatrano organized the Atlanta bake sale to amplify the Father’s Day fundraising efforts of Southern Restaurants for Racial Justice. The bake sale will take place June 21 from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. at Ponce City Market’s central food hall. Pre-sealed boxes of baked goods, from bagels to cookies to biscuits, will be available for $5 each. All proceeds will go to Color of Change, which bills itself as the nation’s largest online racial justice organization. “
